Would it be awkward for me to go to school to be a chef, when I don’t have much experience?
I don’t have much experience in cooking because I never got a chance to cook. I’m only 18 but I do enjoy it very much, and I’m very artistic, maybe leaning towards a pastry chef? But should I go to culinary school even if I haven’t cooked very much? There will probably be a lot of people in the class that have cooked all their life and would laugh at me because I haven’t cooked very much. What should I do?

you are only 18 and you have a lot of time to learn, that is what college is for :] there very well may be people who are already have skill and talent in the arts of cooking but do not be intimidated by that you can learn from them and gain even more experience from it and if it really is something that you would enjoy doing with your life go for it, take a chance, and the best of luck to you – amber

Thats why you go to school, so you can learn. If you can already cook, you won;t need to go to school to learn to cook.
CIA – Culinary Institute of America is the place to go for.
So what if people laugh at you, you are going to open a world famous bakery and make millions, who is gonna be laughing then when you are sipping pinacoladas on your yatch.
I love to cook, watch Jamie Oliver, and Nigela Lawson.
