Would it be weird to stay at the dorms at 20 years old?

I’m transferring to Cal State Northridge from a community college, but I dont know anyone there. I know living at the dorms is a good way to meet people, but CSUN is a commuter school. Would it be weird if I lived at the dorms there even though I’ll be 20 years old? Or should I just get my own apartment?

If it’s a commuter school, then by definition, there are no dorms. If there are, then it’s not really a commuter campus. And yes, you can stay in the dorms if there is room available and you pay for it. 20 is a college age, so that is the average age of dorm residents.

I do not think it would be weird, and you can get your own app. You can always meet people in class if it comes down to it, what ever is comfortable for you as far as living conditions go. Many CSUN students also rent apps in the near by area, check CRAIGSLIST for CSUN postings and maybe you can rent with them.. Or I can be your friend. I live near CSUN. :)

Of course not. There are plenty of 20 year olds that live in the dorms. If a student starts at a 4 year school when they are 18, they will still be in college when they are 20. And quite a few upperclassmen live on campus, though they tend to live in the nicer upperclassmen housing.
